Birthdays Birthdays Birthdays!

We are in the midst of birthday season in our family...aunts, uncles, cousins, grandpas, and of course Luke, Lauren and Justin. We now officially have a 2 year old and 5 year old! Whew!!

Luke turned 2 on May 9 (and yes, I'm just now getting to this post). His favorite thing in the world is golf so we had a golf themed party. It was so fun and Luke had a great time!

Luke is becoming so funny and is so sweet, though independent. He is turning into a big kid. And he's talking like crazy. I love hearing all of his words and sentences. His favorite things are golf, baseball, golf, trains, golf, olives, steak, shrimp and golf. He loves his sister (and she loves him). He is very cautious about trying new things like riding in the boat or carnival rides and he does not like elevators. We love so much more everyday and couldn't imagine our lives without him.

Safety City Graduate

Lauren has spent her mornings for the last two weeks attending Safety City, a wonderful park district class that teaches various important safety guidelines. She loved it and really learned a lot. Although we now have a backseat driver...pointing out all the traffic signals, unsafe pedestrians and questioning whether we are driving the speed limit.


They have an adorable little city where the kids ride their bikes and learn bike safety and the rules of the road. Not only are there miniature buildings, but working traffic lights and railroad crossings.







The kids put on a program at the end of the camp and they were excited to show off what they learned.

This week she will be attending Vacation Bible school. She seems to be looking forward to it.

We had a busy weekend with lots of celebrations. Memaw and Papa drove in from Iowa to help celebrate Lauren's birthday.

Her birthday is on Wednesday but we had her birthday party on Saturday. I'll post pictures once I get them uploaded from my camera. Lauren loved her gymnastics party and I think all the kids had a great time!

We had a great day today celebrating Justin. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed a picnic lunch at Herrick Lake.



This afternoon we went to the pool. Lauren was so excited....Luke, not so much. It may take him the whole summer to warm up to the pool. He doesn't seem to be quite as adventurous as his big sister.

We have a big week ahead...Lauren's 5th birthday on Wednesday. I can't believe another year has passed. She is growing up too quickly. Pictures to come.

Dance Recital

Our beautiful little ballerina had her dance recital tonight. She did great and we are so proud of her. She was so excited to be on the stage.

American Girl Weekend

Memaw and Papa came in to visit this weekend and enjoy all things American Girl. On Saturday morning, Lauren enjoyed a little outing with cousins Ashley and Caroline at M and Em's in Glen Ellyn. It was such a cute event. The girls made pajamas for their dolls, got their hair done, their fingernails done and their dolls hair done. They loved it!











On Sunday, we headed downtown. The boys dropped the girls off at American Girl store on their way to the Chicago Auto Show. Lauren was so excited when we walked in. She has been memorizing the catalogue for weeks and waiting and waiting. She was so excited to get McKenna- the girl of the year who is also a gymnast!






We also enjoyed a lovely lunch. They really do such a nice job and Lauren was so excited to have both of her dolls sit next to her.






It was Memaw's first visit.






We were sad to see Memaw and Papa go home but we had such a fun weekend. This weekend, we're off to Des Moines to meet my new nephew, Max! I can hardly wait!!
