We have been enjoying some fun days at the park this summer. Here are pics from one of our favorites...Northside. Lauren has a new goal- to visit every Wheaton park this summer. There are a lot! This cute guy is 6 months old already! It's so hard to believe. I love this age. He is exploring the world around him, smiling all the time, laughing and babbling. There is nothing better to wake up in the morning to the sweet little baby babble. Jake absolutely loves his brother and sister. They entertain him at the dinner table every night and he laughs and laughs. It is so sweet. I hope they all continue to enjoy each other so much.
Jake is 16 lbs, 6 oz (30th percentile... He looks little doesn't he? ;) He is 27 inches long (70th percentile). He can sit up with support and rolls from his tummy to his back. He likes chewing on his giraffe and teething ring. Although he doesn't have any teeth yet, he seems to be working on them. He is enjoying is baby food, especially butternut squash. I am making his food like I did with Luke. It's not difficult and definitely more economic.
He has his first encounter with double ear infection last week. Ugh! It didn't seem to bother him much but he had a fever and had to stay home with me. Although he slept a lot, he was happy when he was awake.

This week is Lauren's spring break from Emerson. She's spending the week going on fun field trips at Bright Horizons. We kicked off spring break with an afternoon of bowling last weekend.
It was fun but Luke got a little sidetracked with the cosmic lights and music. Check out his dance moves!!

Lauren lost her third tooth this week. She was eating a pear at Bright Horizons and it fell right out. We had been wondering when it was going to happen as it had been just barely hanging on. Her teacher had her put it on her plate and of course Lauren forgot it was there and threw it away along with her garbage. Whoops!! The teacher was great and tried to find it in the garbage but no luck so she suggested Lauren write a note to the tooth fairy. She did. All by herself. It may be the cutest thing I've seen.
The tooth fairy apparently loved it because she left Lauren $2 instead of $1! All smiles here.
Lauren is becoming such a great reader and writer. I'm amazed at how quickly she is picking up reading. She just moved up to level H reading. They work on a lot of journal entries at school and she brought this one home this week.
We were busy with school projects this weekend. Lauren had to make a leprechaun trap. It turned out pretty cute. We will see if she catches any leprechauns.
Her Emerson class will be doing an egg drop from the roof of her school this week. Apparently the janitor will be dropping the eggs not the kids so no worries there. She and Justin have worked hard to build a protective holder for her egg from foam, cotton balls, a styrofoam egg carton and a tin can. We will see if it works!
These two guys are still as cute as ever even though they are both fighting colds. Ugh!
Sweet baby Jake was baptized at First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton on March 3. What a wonderful day!! I say it all the time but we truly are blessed.
We were so happy to have so many of our family members there to join us on this special day. Jake of course was an angel during the service. Babies really are God's miracles.
This sweet little baby boy is four months old already! He is so happy and content. He loves to laugh and is starting to babble.
He weighs 15.1 lbs (48th percentile) and is 26 inches long (76th percentile). He rolls from his tummy to his back and holds his head up well.
We started feeding him cereal this week and will start with veggies and fruits in another month or so. So many changes!
He still likes his pacifier although he finds his thumb too. He likes to cuddle with his little soft dog too. I have a feeling he will like it for many years to come (just like Lauren with her ducky and Luke with his monkey).
His brother and sister love him so much. They want to be around him all the time and are always arguing about who gets to sit closest to him at dinner. Luckily they each can sit next to him. He truly completes our family.
Justin's grandmother Ethel Jean Wolf passed away on January 7, 2013. She was 92 years old and truly the matriarch of the family. She was an amazing lady and I'm so happy to have known her. She was the mother to three, grandmother to nine and great-grandmother to fifteen. We will cherish the memories we have of her. So happy to have this picture taken in November with all of her great-grandchildren.
Merry Christmas!! We have had a whirlwind holiday season. We truly feel blessed to have three happy and healthy children. It so much fun to see Christmas through their eyes. Lauren could hardly wait for Christmas and had pretty much everything on her list. Luke didn't quite remember it from last year but his sister quickly brought him up to speed. Of course, this was Jake's first Christmas! We celebrated with Justin's family the weekend before Christmas and spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Iowa with my family. It all came and went too quickly but we enjoyed it! The house is now back in order and we're ready for 2013! Enjoy the pictures!

The day after the Mead Christmas celebration, the Senior Meads, Zorns and Junior Meads went downtown to enjoy some holiday fun! We had brunch at Millenium Park Grill, watched the ice skaters (although we didn't get to ice skate as it was an hour for skates!), and saw the tree at Macy's! It was a fun, but tiring day!
Poor Luke missed out on his nap, so he & Daddy got some rest time when we got home. Having fun can be so exhausting!
We loaded the car to the brim and headed to Iowa to enjoy Christmas Eve & Christmas morning.

Love it! This tree is my favorite as it has ornaments from our travels and ornaments the kids have made. Lots of memories on this one.

We celebrated New Years at our house with the Malsches and the Zorns! It's always fun to get together with family and enjoy good food and good company! The kids had a great time too...their countdown was at 7:00 p.m!
